Outro fator a apresentar alterações durante as estações é a morfometria testicular, sendo descrito principalmente alterações do volume testicular pelas estações.
Abstract: The equine is a seasonal, photoperiodic species with positive effects of seasonality well described in the literature for females of the species. However, the effects of seasonality on males vary according to the latitude where these animals are located. It is still 30 conflicting how and which parameters of seminal quality are affected by seasonality, with alterations in sperm volume, concentration, motility, defects, and spermatic and hormonal production being described. Another factor that undergoes changes during the seasons is testicular morphometry, with alterations in testicular volume mainly described across seasons. It is thus believed that the primary factor affecting such changes in testicular volume is the change in sperm populations; these changes in cellular groups would affect not only testicular morphometry but also the seminal and hormonal production of the organ since these are the cells responsible for such functions. Therefore, the objective was to evaluate whether testicular biometry changes between seasons and whether such alterations imply changes in hormonal and seminal production of stallions kept in low latitude regions.
