Abstract:	In this work I problematize the invalidation of female figures in the process of constructing the history of Mozambique and Mozambicanization. My aim is to re-signify the story of the women of Ngungunhana, the last emperor of Gaza, giving them back the voice and visibility they need. To do this, I will use the novel As mulheres do imperador by Mozambican writer Ungulani Ba ka Khosa to explain who these women are, how they resisted and demonstrate the historical fissures that place other women in supporting roles. The narrative under analysis allows us to understand that women in Mozambique did not only enter into combat during the national liberation struggle, because in fact they were always there. In silence, they gave their cries, their blood, their sons and daughters, and gave themselves up for a homeland, a homeland that they believed they would one day achieve. However, many like my queens were forced to be in those places, to make history and so became typical heroines. Others didn't, they gave themselves up of their own free will. Who are all these women and where are they represented? Silence and erasure have been effective historical strategies for disempowering women and empowering men, since our histories are constructed to the extent of the phallus. Therefore, it is necessary to de-silence our mothers and build a new historical-political-social imaginary for our daughters and sons, after all Mozambique is not a hermaphrodite.
