Abstract:	Aging is a complex and progressive physiological process. Studies indicate gradual decline in several areas, including the stomatognathic functions, which are affected by neuromuscular changes, tooth loss, and reduced orofacial tone. Due to its phylogenetic similarity, relatively shorter lifespan, and dental structure similar to that of humans, the common marmoset (Callithrix jacchus) was chosen as the object of study, with the aim of analyzing cephalometric characteristics during different phases of the masticatory cycle. The study included six marmosets over 10 years of age, divided into two age groups: elderly (up to 14 years) and very elderly (over 14 years). The animals were recorded using a cineradiographic device while chewing two different consistencies—castella and marshmallow. The videos were analyzed and segmented frame by frame, based on the masticatory phases: opening, jaw closing, and occlusion. These phases were assessed using linear and angular cephalometric measurements. The data were evaluated using descriptive statistics, compared by median values, and analyzed with the Mann-Whitney U test, considering p<0.001 as significant. The results showed that angular measurements presented greater differences during the jaw opening phase. Additionally, when comparing the age groups, it was noted that some values in the very elderly group were relatively low. Statistical differences were observed in some linear and angular measurements between the groups, suggesting a reduction in measurements as the animals age. Despite the limitations of the study, jaw opening and angular cephalometric measures proved to be sensitive to functional aging in common marmosets.
