Abstract:	This dissertation proposes and validates the Sensitive Cartography of Brazilian Natural Colors, a pedagogical tool designed to investigate, record, and share the learning of colors produced by dye plants with the creative community in an expanded sense— including educators, students, artists, designers, and all those interested in learning from the relationship between color, plant, and territory—through a situated, relational, and perceptual approach. Departing from the understanding that natural color is not an isolated datum but an event that emerges from the relationship between living matter, territory, practices, and perception, this research integrates principles of sensitive cartography (Rolnik, 1989; Kastrup, 2007; Passos; Escóssia, 2009), phenomenology of color (Goethe, 2011; Abram, 2013; Albers, 2009), and dialogical and experiential pedagogies (Freire, 1967; Dewey, 2010; Read, 2001). The development process of the tool included investigations carried out in four territories—Mambaí (GO), Belém do Pará (PA), Kaupüna Village in the Upper Xingu (MT), and Água Branca Park (SP)—which functioned as fields of observation, experimentation, and interpretation. From these experiences, four pillars of the tool were consolidated: sensitive listening to the territory, tintorial and sensory experimentation, visual-narrative systematization, and pedagogical application. These pillars guided the creation of specific instruments, such as chromatic sheets, symbolic color circles, and sensory and narrative maps, which structure the analysis of color according to four criteria: material, sensory, territorial, and symbolic. The development of the tool resulted in the creation of the Pedagogical Manual of the Sensitive Cartography of Brazilian Natural Colors, which was applied and validated through a teacher training course. Analysis of the participants’ productions and reports indicated that the tool fosters investigative autonomy, perceptual expansion, territorial belonging, and the strengthening of educational practices grounded in attention, care, and lived experience. Natural color thus emerges as a language that articulates ecological, cultural, and sensory dimensions, configuring itself as a powerful medium for aesthetic and ecological education. The results demonstrate that sensitive cartography constitutes a robust, replicable, and adaptable tool, capable of integrating analytical rigor with perceptual sensitivity while embracing territorial epistemologies and traditional knowledge. By treating plant-based color as a relational and processual expression, color cartography contributes to contemporary debates in design, education, and sustainability, offering a situated and ethical tool for understanding and practicing color. The research points to future paths for expanding the chromatic archive, deepening scientific inquiry, and broadening pedagogical applications, reaffirming natural color as a formative possibility and as living knowledge of Brazilian biodiversity.
