Abstract:	Brazilian agriculture, although highly productive, faces criticism due to its dependence on chemical pesticides and their impacts on the environment and human health. In this context, microbial insecticides emerge as a promising and sustainable alternative for pest management. This dissertation aims to identify emerging trends in the microbial insecticide market, considering both the general panorama and microbial products available for target pests that affect soybean production. It should be noted that, in addition to microbial insecticides, other biological control agents are also considered bioinputs for pest management; however, these were not analyzed in this study. The research focuses on three specific objectives: (1) to identify and describe microbial insecticides available in the Brazilian market, as well as those available for soybean crops; (2) to investigate the technological differentials present in microbial insecticides available for the main target pests affecting soybean production in the Brazilian market; and (3) to compare microbial insecticides that have the same active ingredient composition, seeking to understand how they differ. The adopted methodology combined documentary research and semi-structured interviews, enabling the analysis of official records and information provided by companies in the sector. The results indicate that fungi account for most of the active ingredients (70.6%) of registered products. Powder formulations are predominant, although diversity exists depending on the microorganism. The technological differentials identified included storage/stability, spectrum of action, synergy/compatibility, diversity of formulations, exclusive technologies, and residual effect. The existence of products with the same active ingredient composition, but with higher concentrations, broader target pest spectrum, and attributes such as stability, ease of application, and additional effects such as chain infection, adds value to microbial insecticides. A set of trends can be observed in the microbial insecticide market: predominance of the fungi Beauveria bassiana and Metarhizium anisopliae; prominence of bacteria due to strain diversity; viruses highlighted for their high specificity; a trend towards the use of wettable powder (WP) and suspension concentrate (SC) formulations; technological differentials oriented toward storage/stability among national companies and toward exclusive technologies among international companies; in addition to the increasing adoption of fungal combinations with complementary action as a strategy to enhance product efficacy.
