Abstract:	The Food Acquisition Program was established 22 years ago by the Federal Government as a strategy to promote family farming by opening a marketing channel that would allow family farmers to sell their produce directly, without the need for bidding. Identifying whether the program's institutional objectives have been achieved and how they affect family farming in the Federal District in practice is a key question to be answered in this work. Beyond the implementation of public policy, it is necessary to evaluate how it is implemented, and what challenges and prospects arise from an understanding of the reality addressed by government action, both at the institutional level and among family farmers. This work was conducted through data collection and field research, aiming to identify whether the PAA has promoted rural development through the social and economic inclusion of family farmers, as provided for in the law establishing the Program. The method analyzed was the Simultaneous Purchase with Donation, implemented through a Term of Adhesion between the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight against Hunger (MDS) and the Federal District Government, through its State Secretariat of Agriculture, Supply and Rural Development (Seagri-DF). The research involved administering structured and semi-structured questionnaires to collect data and information to investigate the impact of the Program's implementation in the Federal District. Among the main findings, it is worth noting that the PAA has contributed to social and economic inclusion by providing a dedicated marketing channel for this productive segment, mitigating competition in the private market; and enabling increased income for producers. Challenges include the lack of regularity in the Program's implementation throughout the year and insufficient financial resources available to support farmers.
