Abstract:	This work is the result of a research focused on the translation of a poem into the Brazilian Sign Language - Libras. The object consists of written text in the Portuguese language and imagery elements in comic format, thus a bimodal and intersemiotic translation. In this way, we propose to demonstrate how the relationship between the elements that compose the poem in the translation process for this language occurs. The methodology used for the development of this research, carried out with a qualitative, analytical and descriptive focus, is based on the Peircean semiotic analysis, in his general theory of signs; in the descriptive researches carried out by Cuxac (1980) on the iconicity of sign languages and by Sutton-Spence (2006) in their qualitative analyzes of the poetry produced in this language. Because it is a poem, my research is based on the search for translational strategies for the sign language, that is, to seek a visual and non-sonic poetic effect. To do so, some productions in this area are analyzed, to understand what strategies were adopted. The research initially presents a historical and legal approach on questions of translation, accessibility to information and communication, always focusing on deafness. In sequence, we present a reflection on the movement of the translators and interpreters of Libras in what concerns their identity, formation, qualification and professional practice. In its development, we point out more detailed questions in reference to semiotics and as they are shown in sign language. Finally, we present the result produced in the translation and its detailed analysis referring to the choices and strategies adopted and we conclude demonstrating the presence of the complementarity, informativeness, anchorage and real relationships or relay evidenced in this process by information provided through written text and images.
