Abstract:	The present work intends to investigate the notion of soul (ψυχή) in Plato, from different dialogues in which this concept appears, especially the Phaedo, the Republic, the Phaedrus, the Laws and the Timaeus. It is intended, with this analysis, not only to point out the definitions of soul that the philosopher presents in each of these works, but mainly to establish relations between the texts, in order to realize if there are changes in the notion of soul in Plato throughout his production. In this sense, in the first chapter of this dissertation, important introductory questions are analyzed for the study of the dialogues, their chronology and the influences that the Orphic tradition and Homer exercised in the Platonic work. It is in the second chapter that begins the examination of the dialogues, initially by the Phaedo, which presents a notion of soul closely linked to Socratic conceptions and traditions prior to Plato. In the third chapter, we analyze the famous thesis of the tripartition of the soul, from the Republic and the Phaedrus, highlighting the differences between the dialogues. The fourth and last chapter is dedicated to the study of the Laws, the Timaeus, and of a different passage of the Phaedrus, in order to expose the thesis of the soul as the principle of all movement, as well as the notion of the soul of the world, not mentioned in the works previously studied. After analyzing these dialogues, they are all related, considering the theme of the soul, in order to answer the initial questioning, namely, if it is possible to defend a univocal notion of soul in Plato.
