Abstract:	This article discusses the importance of the new Brazilian technological innovation law – law number – 7.282/02 to be submitted by the executive branch to the Brazilian congress. This law was influenced by similar laws in other countries where they had success in implementing policies related to industry and technology. Brazil needs a modern law related to innovation to serve as an instrument in fomenting the development of science and technology. Outside the fact the law will help in the advancement of modernizing scientific and technological models of the country, it has some deficiencies. In conclusion, this project should be thoroughly debated to make sure that a new law is passed that won’t make it difficult in the future to construct an autonomous Brazilian technical development model.
