dc.description.abstract1Cylindrical shells filled with fluid are widely used structures in various engineering facilities such as oil platforms, nuclear power plants, and storage tanks. In offshore structures, the action of ocean waves must be carefully assessed as the influence of the external fluid on the outer walls of these structures can modify their dynamic behavior. This work presents an analytical-numerical approach to analyze the nonlinear vibrations of a clamped-free cylindrical shell, considering the presence of external and internal fluid with the inclusion of the effects of the movement of the internal fluid's free surface. The deformation fields and curvature changes of the average surface of the cylindrical shell are described by the nonlinear theory of Sanders-Koiter. Modal expansions, describing the displacement fields of the clamped-free cylindrical shell, are obtained from Chebyshev polynomials. The action of ocean waves is developed from Airy wave theory and diffraction theory, where a parametric analysis is performed to assess the influence of this loading on the dynamic behavior of cylindrical shells. The Rayleigh-Ritz method, along with Hamilton's principle, is used to obtain the nonlinear equations of motion of the system, which are then linearized and solved to obtain the natural frequencies and vibration modes of the cylindrical shell with fluid-structure interaction. The results obtained are compared, whenever possible, with other works found in the literature. Considering the external and internal fluid for free vibration analysis with the application of hydrodynamic pressures is important as it incorporates additional mass and reduces the values of natural frequencies. The influence of the free surface also alters the free vibrations of the cylindrical shell, and for large structures, a considerable effect is observed that cannot be neglected. Next, an analysis of the nonlinear forced vibrations of the cylindrical shell is presented by obtaining time and phase plane responses, evaluating the influence of the action of ocean waves on the oscillations of the problem. To assess the accuracy and convergence of the analytical-numerical results obtained, a numerical analysis is developed via Finite Element Method, using the commercial software ANSYS®. Considering the physical and geometric parameters for the cylindrical shell and fluid adopted in this thesis, a maximum percentage difference of 1,79% was observed between the results obtained by analytical and numerical models. Therefore, this work contributes to various aspects related to fluid-structure interaction in cylindrical shells, with applications in the offshore industry.pt_BR
