Abstract:	This Thesis departs from the concept of the corridor of geopoesy to examines geopoets Sebastião Pinheiro (Tião Pinheiro) and José Godoy Garcia, within the border region between Goiás and Tocantins. By articulating territory, memory, and education, the study investigates how voices are symbolically and politically inscribed in space. Drawing, directly and indirectly, on theoretical operators of geopoesy (Silva Junior, 2015), it analyzes José Godoy Garcia as an early wanderer of a deep, interior Goiás – one that would later open toward the founding of Brasília and be divided with the creation of a new state. His interior writing already problematized territories marked by large pockets of poverty and exploitation, critically addressing socio-economic inequalities while mapping regional traditions and popular manifestations. The reading of Tião Pinheiro foregrounds the frontier condition between Monte Alegre/Campos Belos (GO) and Arraias (TO). Within an affective constellation of rivers, paths, people, and places, the word operates as an aesthetic, political, and communal gesture. The dissertation challenges the politicized and exploited imaginary of the so-called “corridor of misery,” arguing that, despite persistent inequalities, the region sustains traditions and forms of knowledge rooted in orality and in artistic and intellectual practices that continue to consolidate themselves. It also incorporates voices from the Kalunga Quilombola Communities of Goiás and Tocantins, likewise situated along this frontier and actively rexisting against forces that seek to perpetuate regional deprivation. In this process of identity affirmation, masters of knowing, making, and saying emerge as true narrators of geopoesy (Alves, 2020). Through the concepts of raizama and enfronteiramento, the study maps elements of belonging and cultural strengthening that traverse the poetry of Tião Pinheiro (born in Monte Alegre and currently living in Palmas) and José Godoy Garcia (born in Jataí, later based in Goiânia and Brasília, where he died in 1999). Finally, the dissertation presents a pedagogical insert with didactic proposals grounded in literature and collective memory, understanding the school space as a site for the reception of these texts and for recognizing place and its inhabitants as participants in artistic life. By bringing into dialogue popular knowledge (such as that of Iaiá Procópia), quilombola academic thought (Rodrigues – Tuia Kalunga; Vercilene Pereira), and key regional thinkers (Correia, Moura, Gandara), the study moves beyond the stigma of lack and affirms the symbolic breadth of place, recognizing the literary word as a collective practice of belonging, knowledge, education, and transformation in these liminal, interior Brazils – niemares – far from the sea, which is also called kalunga.
