Abstract: The Lake Paranoá Basin, located in the Federal District of Brazil, presents a complex management scenario due to its multifunctionality and the various hydrological challenges it faces, such as water availability, aquifer recharge, and contamination risks. This situation is intensified by high urbanization pressure and the increasing effects of climate change, which contribute to the loss of hydrological ecosystem services in the basin. In this context, this study aimed to assess the supply of water provision and regulation ecosystem services in the basin between 1985 and 2024, analyzing the influence of land cover and climate changes on the supply of these services. The adopted methodology was based on the analysis of land cover changes using MapBiomas data, the assessment of climate trends over the same period using precipitation and evapotranspiration data series, and the modeling and evaluation of hydrological ecosystem services through the application of the Seasonal Water Yield (InVEST) model. The results indicated change in the hydrological regime, with a trend of reduction in precipitation and actual evapotranspiration. A reduction in forest formations occurred due to urban expansion. Regarding ecosystem services, an increase in surface runoff and reductions in groundwater recharge and baseflow were observed, compromising water regulation and supply. The results demonstrate that both urban expansion and climate variability acted as relevant factors for the loss of ecosystem services. The most urbanized Hydrographic Units (HUs) were the most impacted, while the HUs with native Cerrado coverage were confirmed as the main water producers. However, a trend of service loss was observed even in these preserved areas, reinforcing the influence of climate change. Finally, this work provides quantitative and spatialized inputs for more sustainable territorial planning, emphasizing the importance of integrated water management that simultaneously considers anthropogenic and climatic pressures.
