Abstract:	Introduction: Constructing an idea about old age 15 a complex process, as well as all other age categories 1t involves a social and multicultural construction and to understand 1t 1t is necessary to remain attentive to the fact that individuals also go through this process in a different way. unique, regardless of the cultural environment in which they live. So far, many authors have spoken for the elderly. focusing on aging and old age as a predominantly negative process. These authors try to address the issue, but they are full of stereotypes that prevent the construction of a positive identity for the elderly. The understanding that Brazilian society ages quickly refers to the need for society to know how to deal with this new (old) reality. Thus, issues that emerge as a result of population aging have been present in scientific studies. Objective: To analyze aspects of use, adherence and evasion related to biopsychosocial rehabilitation treatment, as well as mortality in elderly people with Alcohol Use Disorder. Methodology: Therefore, in common agreement between advisors and advisors, the construction of the doctoral thesis was made in the form of an article, as provided for in paragraphs 2 and 3 of article 3 of the Norms for preparing the dissertation or thesis for obtaining a master’s degree o doctor of the Health Sciences and Technologies Program at the University of Brasilia— PPGCTS — UNB. The methods applied in the development of this thesis are described in the four manuscripts presented in the results section, with each article responding to one of the specific objectives. Conclusion: TRA treatment is a challenge for institutions, governments, managers and especially for health professionals, as it 15 a demand with low adherence to the therapy established by the service. Therapies should involve the longitudinal perspective, which often frustrates the expectation of the patient who seeks immediate care and cure.
