Abstract:	This thesis investigates the contemporary crisis of trade unionism as an expression of the structural contradictions of neoliberal and globalized capitalism, grounded in the ontological centrality of labor and the Marxian critique of political economy. It argues that the recent metamorphoses of the world of work do not signal the decline of the category of labor, but rather its contradictory reaffirmation as the foundation of value production, now mediated by global value chains, algorithmic control devices, and intensified forms of subsumption. The transition from the factory to the cloud affirms the contradictory coexistence between persistent factory forms and emerging digital forms that reconfigure exploitation by rendering it less visible, more diffuse, and harder to collectively contest. Neoliberalism is understood as a historical project of class hegemony that simultaneously reorganizes the objective conditions of exploitation and the forms of labor subjectivation, operating through the generalization of superexploitation and through the capture of working-class subjectivity. This process tends to convert the collective worker into a competitive neo-subject, eroding the material and symbolic foundations of class solidarity, without, however, entirely suppressing the antagonism, which persists in dispersed forms of resistance. The crisis of trade unionism does not stem from organizational failures or from the loss of relevance of labor, but from the dissolution of the historical conditions that sustained the trade union form: factory concentration, stable formal employment, contributory social protection, and social equivalence among workers – conditions the thesis formulates through the category of social measurability of labor. The analysis, grounded in the Lukácsian conception of mediation as particularity, is developed from the social formations of Brazil and Italy, situated respectively in the periphery and the center of the capitalist system, revealing a regressive convergence of conditions of exploitation in which patterns of precarization typical of dependent economies become generalized in core countries, without dissolving the structural asymmetries of the world system. The research, theoretical bibliographic in nature and guided by the historical-dialectical materialist method, articulates the ontology of labor, Marxist Dependency Theory, the critical sociology of work, the philosophy of praxis, and the analysis of neoliberal rationality as mediations of one and the same contradictory totality. It concludes that trade unionism, under the neoliberal offensive, is traversed by a dialectical tension between crisis, conformity, rebellion, and praxis: crisis reveals the exhaustion of forms of mediation whose operativity depended on conditions that neoliberalism dissolves; conformity expresses trade union realism as the management of loss; rebellion attests to the persistence of antagonism in forms without durable mediation; and praxis designates the open field in which the reconstruction of new collective mediations remains a historical possibility. The overcoming of the impasses of trade unionism remains inseparable from a radical critique of the sociability founded on value and from the historical construction of mediations capable of articulating, through praxis, singular experiences of exploitation into an emancipatory collective project
