Abstract:	This master's thesis presents theoretical research on the Demarcation of Indigenous Territory in the context of societal projects under dispute in Brazilian society and on the Brazilian government's public agenda in the period following the 1988 Federal Constitution. The work analyses the disputes between the societal project of sections of the capitalist class, which have interests that conflict with the indigenous societal project. It highlights the importance of understanding the role of the State in this relationship, in a critical and dialectical manner, highlighting its contradictions and class origins, through analysis based on the historical-dialectical materialist method. As a qualitative research methodology, a bibliographic and documentary review was carried out, analysing official documents on the Demarcation of Indigenous Territory in Brazil, including decrees, ordinances, opinions, and indigenous manifestations, on the main categories, namely: Territory and Private Property, Demarcation of Indigenous Territory, State and Societal Projects, considering the structural, historical, legal, and political elements that are decisive both for the implementation and for the attempt to end the policy of Demarcation of Indigenous Territory. Numerous unconstitutional legal and administrative strategies were also highlighted, carried out within the State between 2020 and 2025, limiting the right to permanence of the Demarcation of Indigenous Territory in terms of time and geography, with an emphasis on the intensification of conflicts and disputes over indigenous territories in the Legal Amazon. The contradiction between the interests of indigenous peoples — who conceive of territory as a space of life, ancestry, and identity — and the interests of capital, which treats land as a commodity and source of accumulation — forms the central axis of analysis. The contradiction of the Indigenous Territory Demarcation politics itself became evident when it revealed its legal limitation, when emptied of theoretical concepts that do not understand the Indigenous Territory as intrinsic to the Indigenous body. Thus, the study demonstrates that the dispute between societal projects and the correlation of social forces conditions the public agenda of the State, which can direct public politics toward the interests of the ruling class to the detriment of collective objectives, such as the Demarcation of Indigenous Territories for the protection of native peoples.
