Abstract:	Extreme climate events result from the combination of extreme values of two or more random climate variables. On the other hand, when at least one of these variables exhibits multimodal characteristics, climate systems become more complex. The bimodal GEV distribution, proposed by Otiniano (2023), emerges as an alternative for the univariate modeling of extremes in complex climate systems. In this work, we propose a new regression model that describes the relationship between a bimodal extreme value response variable and other random variables. This regression model is based on the bimodal GEV distribution (BGEV). One of the innovations of the new BGEV regression model is the reparameterization of the location parameter in terms of its median, which facilitates the interpretation of the results. The estimation of the parameters of the BGEV regression model was developed based on the maximum likelihood method. The performance of this estimator was evaluated through Monte Carlo simulation studies. Finally, the BGEV regression model was applied to climate data from the A002 meteorological station located in Goiˆania. These data are unprecedented, making this a novel contribution presented in this work. The adequacy of this fit was validated based on quantile residuals.
