Abstract: This work arises from concerns about the significant increase in cases of subjective suffering among adolescents in Brazil, as well as the individualistic, pathologizing and medicalizing trends in the care offered to this group. Additionally, it considers the recent nature of public policies aimed at adolescent mental health within the paradigm of the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform, as well as the weaknesses that this network currently faces. The objective was to understand the subjective configuration of the suffering of an adolescent participating in a non-governmental community mental health organization in the Federal District. The study sought to investigate how these processes were constituted throughout her history and how the adolescent experienced her participation in the organization, highlighting both the factors that fostered her subjective development and the limitations of the organization compared to other spaces she attended. González Rey's Theory of Subjectivity, from a historical-cultural perspective, underpinned the theoretical explanation of these processes. Focusing on the connections between subjectivity, mental health and education, the study emphasizes the importance of the community dimension in adolescent mental health care, challenging the institutional, technocratic and bureaucratic logic in favor of a collective approach that values adolescents' own resources for coping with adversity. Using the Constructive-Interpretative Methodology, based on Qualitative Epistemology, an in-depth case study was conducted with a 16-year-old adolescent who was experiencing intense subjective suffering and participated in the Organização Sol Solidário. The case study enabled the construction of a theoretical model capable of explaining her suffering as a process integrated into her subjective system, linking aspects from her personal history, family context, school history, use of electronic devices and aspects of culture. In this context, it highlighted the value of dialogical educational practices as an alternative to the trends of behavioral adjustment, pathologization and repression that predominated in Evangeline's care Journey (alias), including experiences at the local CAPSi and in a school clinic at a private university. Finally, it is concluded that the emphasis on dialogical practices, characterized by the appreciation of the adolescent's subjective resources and the construction of welcoming, open and sensitive relationships, is a powerful path for addressing cases of subjective suffering.
