| Abstract: | Ceramic cladding facades are widely used in commercial and residential buildings due to their durability, weather resistance and attractive aesthetics. Over time, they are subject to various factors and agents that can cause anomalies, affecting their appearance and performance. Different degrees of protection and exposure to degradation agents, such as solar radiation, rain and wind, as well as the variability in the quality of materials and construction processes lead to different deterioration along the facade. The research presents an analysis of the variability of degradation in facades with ceramic coating, with the aim of investigating how it presents itself, its quantification and which factors are responsible. The aim is to understand the behavior of degradation in different positions on the façade plane, exposing how it manifests itself depending on the floors of the buildings and the different regions of the samples. The research is based on a database, developed from inspections of buildings in use, using the Degradation Measurement Method (MMD). The methodology is applied to the study of 174 samples of sixstory buildings, aged between 5 and 48 years old and located in Brasília. The analyzes are based on degradation indicators, such as the General Degradation Factor (FGD), quantified and segmented based on the variables investigated (age, floor and region). Subsequently, statistical tools are applied to measure variability. The results indicate that there is variability in degradation and it is caused by numerous factors, such as age and the position of the floor in the facade plane. The dispersion is greater for newer buildings. The normalized indices proposed for analyzing variability in facade positions prove to be effective and allow trends to be identified. The central region does not show significant variation in degradation in relation to the extreme region, regardless of the age range under analysis. There is a difference in degradation between the floors of the building, especially in relation to the top, the floor that presents the greatest number of anomalies. |
