Abstract:	Cultural significance, integrity and authenticity are key notions about the conservation of cultural assets around the world. However, there are still challenges to be faced regarding the operationalization of these notions. There are certain overlaps or mutual influences between them that lead to a central issue: although in theory they can be understood in isolation, in practice this separation is not feasible. Given this problem, this article aims to investigate authenticity, integrity and cultural significance in contemporary times from the perspective of the relationship of interdependence and non-severability between them. In theoretical terms, authors such as Stovel, Jokilehto, Mason, Lira, Silva and Zancheti are basic references. As a reflection on this overlap, in practice, let’s take the case of the Berlin Wall as an example. It is understood that post-war or post-disaster reconstruction (or destruction) actions can provide elements to show how, the way to value, that is, to grasp the cultural significance, interferes with the action on the asset and, consequently, on its integrity and authenticity. Thus, in the light of contemporary theoretical approaches on the subject and their comparison with this case study, the article proposes to build guidelines that can be substantiated in a methodological matrix that favors the integrated analysis of these three notions in the conservation of cultural assets.
