Abstract:	The present thesis in Human Rights aims to delve into the intricate life trajectories of the notable figure of Mãe Dora de Oyá (Mother Dora de Oyá), a multifaceted black woman who plays significant roles as Ialorixá (High Priestess of the Candomblé), singer, composer of sambas, member of the Irmandade da Boa Morte (Sisterhood of the Good Death by Candoblé), former militant of the Brazilian Communist Party, and physiotherapist. The narrative, guided by the methodologies of Escrevivência (coined by Conceição Evaristo, merges "to write" and "experience") and Affectionate Writing, seeks not only to recount but also to weave a sensitive and engaged plot, providing a deeper understanding of the cultural and socio-political richness that Mãe Dora personifies. Doralina Fernandes Barreto Regis, by adopting the identity of Mãe Dora de Oyá, transcended the geographical boundaries of the Federal District, establishing herself as a central reference not only for her immediate community but also for terreiros (candomblé temples), samba circles, and fraternities throughout Brazil. Despite the historical erasure that black women face in the historiography of Brazilian culture, this thesis emerges as an initial effort to recover the vitality of these voices, using Mãe Dora's story as a starting point for broader reflections. The proposed interdisciplinary approach aims to stimulate studies that intricately and reflectively interconnect the dimensions of gender, race, religion, and Afro-Brazilian culture. By exploring the intersections of these elements in Mãe Dora's life, the research aims to contribute to filling persistent gaps in the understanding of the narratives of black women, thereby challenging the invisibility that permeates the construction of historical knowledge. Finally, the thesis aims to transcend conventional boundaries by exploring the spiritual dimension of samba, through which the women of axé, Candomblé, and samba are indissociably intertwined. More than a musical genre, Samba is presented as an Orixá that not only accompanies cultural expressions but also regulates the sense of belonging and enables essential communal actions for the survival of the involved communities. In this perspective, the thesis proposes a reinterpretation of Samba as a spiritual and cultural element that transcends its musical aspect, enriching the understanding of Afro-Brazilian cultural practices.
