dc.description.abstract1: Housing projects in Peru generally employ the same construction materials across the country. The energy deficit that is driven by the selection of these construction materials at a daily basis results in energy poverty and low thermal quality to the housing’s interiors. In this sense, this research showcases the potential of passive heating strategies through thermo energetic simulations. The city of Puno, located on the shores of Lake Titicaca, will serve as a case study for this research’s method. First, a representative housing typology was determined in a proposed area. Then, the current thermal behaviour was simulated. Finally, three intervention proposals of combined variables were simulated, with emphasis on thermal envelope enhancement and indigenous materials using the Design-Builder tool version 6.1.0. The ASHRAE 55-2017 standard was used to evaluate the comfort level at 80% acceptability. As a result, when compared with the current state at 0.0% of percentage of hours occupied in comfort (POC), the three intervention proposals show reasonable rates, highlighting the combination with sheep's wool and Ichu, which shows 100% comfort; and Totora, with 87.5% comfort. Strategies to improve the thermal enclosure can be potentially introduced in the rehabilitation of existing homes and the design of new buildings.pt_BR
