Abstract:	The aim of this narrative study is to analyze the production of ethical meanings about the mothering process that children with autism spectrum disorder go through. The female experience is historically characterized by established rituals based on social norms, among them is motherhood and its reverberations. When these reverberations refer to an autism diagnosis, the motherhood experience is transformed, repositioning the female figure; her wishes; as well as self-care and maternal care. This study refers to cultural psychology assumptions, such as meaning production; identity; ambivalences; reflections and mother-child-community in-between. In order to understand this process, a narrative case study was conducted using qualitative epistemology. The narrative case consists of the mother of a child with autism spectrum disorder. Four interviews took place and underwent a dialogical discourse analysis. The results have indicated the following themes: the grieving process due to the diagnosis; the female leadership in parental relationships; mothering as the production of ethical care; genesis and the development of motherhood activism; as well as the production of new ways to exist in a post- pandemic world. The subjectivity that is present in the reports indicates that the (de)construction spaces concerning mothering are explored and understood in its in-between as producers and facilitators of a diverse being and acting in the world.
