Abstract: Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a disruptive technology that modify the scenario of the AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) industry, crescent on the world stage, which generates very effective solutions for the sector. In Brazil, growth has been driven mainly by government actions through decrees and actions aimed at spreading BIM in the national territory. Thus, the market share that has not yet joined the process is in a hurry to do so. And it is at this point that many professionals, companies and agencies fail, because join other processes, without knowing their bases and precepts. It is in this context that carrying out studies like this is necessary. In this study, the main objective is to develop a mapping method for prioritizing risks and assessing the maturity of BIM implementation in public agencies. To achieve this, fist the most recent literature was systematically mapped in order to compile a list of the most representative BIM implementation risks in the international context. This list was then submitted to the team involved in the BIM adoption processes at DNIT. BIM maturity matrices were submitted to this team too. With that, the data from this study were obtained: risk characterization in two aspects (probability of occurrence and impact) and matrices for assessing the maturity level of the BIM implementation in the agency. The risk characterization was submitted to fuzzy inference systems to quantify and prioritize them. Already the matrices were applied to the methodology proposed by Bilal Sucar and the level of BIM implementation at DNIT was reached. The first three risks in the prioritization list obtained are: inadequate relevant knowledge and experience, problems of interoperability and cultural resistance and are strongly interconnected. Already the Maturity, was between low and medium levels. These levels of maturity express a deficiency mainly in terms of the development of work and design processes. Since the definition of processes is considered an introductory step within the BIM implementation, it is stated that this result is related to that presented by the prioritization of risks. In this, the team involved considered the risks related to issues to be resolved in the initial stages of adoption, as the most critical. What can be pointed out as a linking of the results. As a scientific contribution, the present study brings a method that allows the mapping of risk prioritization and maturity assessment of BIM implementation in public agencies, which indicates points to be solved initially in the Brazilian context, in order to eliminate the main barriers to BIM adoption. It can also be considered as a reference to countries that are in the same stage and context of implementation. Data like this tend to scientifically support the AEC industry and make BIM development, coupled with public policies, manage to reach levels of maturity already presented by developed countries.
