| Abstract: | This master's thesis aims to consolidate another stage of the development of a medical equipment for active therapy by LED radiation. First, the motivations, the works that generated them and the project objectives were presented. Then, a brief review of the project methodologies that could be used was done. Some techniques for designing molded plastic structures were also presented, as it is a knowledge that is not usually addressed in university classes. Closing the review, we have Brazil’s legal requirements for medical equipment listed and how these oblige the equipment to be in compliance with ABNT’s technical standards, mainly ABNT NBR 60601-1 and 60601-2-57. The dissertation continues discussing how the project was conceived and executed through the mixture of modified cascade development and the spiral method. It also brings the experimental methodology that was used to obtain the experimental results and the simulation methodology from some required compliance tests. Next, the application of the method described above and the various nuances that encompass the design of a medical equipment prototype and how they relate to regulatory requirements were addressed. The text represents a linearized outline for the entire development process, in order to facilitate the understanding of both the actions taken and the order in which the decisions were made. In the results, the experimental data obtained through the use of the equipment during the tests and measurements are presented. There’s also a photographic presentation of the finished equipment and all the structures and components that integrate it and were the result of the project’s evolution. Finally, the conclusion discusses how the work presented in this manuscript contributed positively to obtain commercial medical equipment and how the objectives were achieved. Appendix A shows the different images that make up the human machine interface of the developed equipment. Appendix B contains instructions for use that are related to the equipment and will serve as a model for the document required in the equipment registration process. The annexes, on the other hand, contain parts of the text of the course conclusion monograph developed by this same author and which contains theoretical information relevant to the presented development. |
