Abstract: Apply didactic content only through lessons in expository format may not be sufficient for the teaching software engineering in this new era. Much of this is due to the change of focus of product to user that influences the software community in current times. As a result, user experience (UX) has become an essential requirement in the software development process and a necessary activity for all professionals in the Information Technology (IT) area who seek to build quality products. However, there are still few initiatives that provide the experimentation of software development techniques focused on UX in curriculum of undergraduate courses in the IT area. \textit{Design Sprint} (DS) combined with Project-Based Learning (PBL) appear as a way to mitigate this problem. One of the main characteristics of the PBL for software development is the possibility of generating authentic artifacts, that is, artifacts based on a real world context. Additionally, Design Sprint works as a good process for creating user-oriented products. This work presents a systematic literature review (SRL) whose objective is to investigate how PBL units that produce authentic software are commonly executed. In addition, two case studies are reported that aims to explore how Design Sprint behaves into a classroom context. The SRL results indicated that Scrum is the most widely used software development process in ABP units that generate authentic software, that students are usually divided into groups of 2 to 5 people during the activities and that monitors play an important role in the quality of the software produced. The results of the case studies indicate that the limited time to conduct the Design Sprint unit is a complicating factor in its adaptation to educational context, that students judge positively their own learning and participation and that Design Sprint provides interesting insights that can be useful for specifying the requirements of the software to be developed in PBL unit. The grouping of these results allowed the creating a Design Sprint adapted for insertion in PBL's ideation stage.
