Abstract:	The present paper discusses the thesis that the intertextual interpretation of photographs and imagery documents in the field of Informational Science constitutes in a methodology capable of providing this science relevant recognition as in the social research area alongside other disciplines. The intertextuality should not be applied to build lines or scientific sketches, but to prove the sustainability of the corpus scope of Information Science (IS) and its contribution to society. Photography is not just history, it's ontological reading of the look and of the capture act, either being of itself or of what it′s observed, in the status of a profession or in the opportunity of a reasoned record in any need. If I recognize myself socially, I recognize myself individually, in a reinforcing cycle. The central problem resided in the absence of contextual minimal information about the genesis of the photographic document, which imposed the search for new methodologies so as to assign meanings. The thesis proposes intertextuality as a valid method of redefinition and reconstruction of information, which has been empirically discussed in the context of a significant collection of images from Formiga (MG). For this purpose, refers to the origins of intertextuality, traces its historical profile, and identifies its main types, to then contextualize it in contemporary times, whose main theme becomes the relationship between text and photography. Continuing deepens the discussion of narratives, stories and novels and intertextual relations arising both in theoretical terms, as by examples. Established the theoretical and conceptual bases, the thesis continues with the writing by the author, of four-inspired and related stories, in an intertextual way with photos chosen of the city, concluding that intertextuality as a methodological option applicable to the CI area.
